Hope Heals Camp Spa Days
Hope Heals Camp is a week-long retreat and year-round community offering rest, resources, and relationships to families experiencing disabilities. We helped sponsor their spa days for their 2024 summer camps. For Session 3, we hired Emmy’s Nails to treat the women to gel manicures and visited in Nauvoo, AL to help volunteer!
Teacher Appreciation
To kickstart the new school year, we visited Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter teachers for a full day of appreciation! They started the day with a Mend Coffee bar, snacks, and juice. We provided a lunch buffet from Tazikis and then sent them into the weekend with chair massages from Atlanta Mobile Massage.
Mother’s Lunch
For Mother’s Day, we honored 26 homeless women, mainly single mothers coming out of domestic violence, by hosting a four-course Mother’s Lunch at South City Kitchen Midtown. Abijah performed Spoken Word written on motherhood. Weld ATL was on site for free permanent jewelry. Each guest was gifted a Birdie personal alarm, Lapcos face masks, and a book on motherhood & self-worth for a book swap.
Say Yes to the Prom Dress
On March 21st, we teamed up with the Lady Hawks, The Ascent Project, Girl Talk, and so many others to give a group of deserving young women the ultimate prom styling experience. All free of charge, this event made it possible for them to attend their high school prom. Each girl partnered with a personal shopper to select their dress, shoes, and handbag. They received personal, live hair and makeup tutorials. A few of the stellar sponsors were Kendra Scott jewelry, who designed a piece of jewelry with the girls and Spanx, who provided them with undergarments. Transportation, meals, and tickets were paid for. All girls left with a packed-full swag bag!
ACS Egg Hunt
TCS hosted an egg hunt for the 26 kids at Atlanta Children’s Shelter! We hid, hunted, and hopped all around the playground. Each child got to keep a basket, their eggs, and some special Easter treats.
Sunshine Boxes for Atlanta Angels Foster Families
To celebrate the arrival of summer, TCS curated summertime fun buckets for foster families based on their kids’ ages and interests. Splash pads, throwable paintballs, kickballs, jump ropes, indoor and outdoor crafts, kites, Kinetic Sand, water balloons, and so much more!
Monthly Birthday Parties
Each month, TCS hosts a birthday party at Atlanta Children’s Shelter to celebrate the kids who had a birthday that month. We decorate, sing, enjoy snacks, and hand out party favors. Each child with a birthday is gifted an outfit, card, toy, book, and a personal cake with candle.
